Madeline's class has been studying bakeries this year. The study has included field trips to local working bakers and pastry chefs, interviews, baking and measurement, and it culminated this morning with the grand opening of the Rose bakery in Thea's classroom, where the kids served up treats they've made over the past few days. Madeline, a counter helper, took orders, while others were register helpers, adding and making change for each 10 cent snack, while others were bakers in the back and decorators putting finishing touches on the treats. Unfortunately, the Rose was only open for 40 minutes - the exact time of caitlin's Christmas concert! Thanks to Gih for attending the grand opening and sending the attached!!
